2 dead in building collapse in India’s Delhi

NEW DELHI – At least two dead bodies were recovered and 12 persons were rescued alive from under the debris of the 4-story building that had collapsed in north Delhi on Monday evening, confirmed a local cop on Tuesday.

Both the dead were identified as girls aged 7 and 17 years. A few more persons were still feared trapped under the debris, even as the rescue work continued.

The incident occurred in north Delhi’s Burari area when the under-construction building suddenly collapsed, thus trapping several persons under it.

Those injured were admitted to a local hospital for medical treatment.
