TEHRAN – President Masoud Pezeshkian vowed that Iran will be giving “more painful and crushing responses” to the Israeli strikes, cautioning that the Zionist regime will assault other regional states if it is not reined in.
In a telephone conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani on Sunday, Pezeshkian said the Zionist regime’s aggression against Iran, carried out after the violation of Iraq’s airspace, reveals the criminal and aggressive nature of Israel, which has no respect for international regulations and norms.
Pointing to the dark record of the Israeli regime in attacking Muslim countries, such as Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Iran, the president warned that if such an evil process is not brought to a halt with the collective and mighty determination of the Islamic world, the Zionist regime’s aggression will undoubtedly also engulf other regional countries sooner or later.
It is the historical responsibility of all Muslim countries to stand against the Israeli regime’s brazen law-braking seriously, resolutely and at all levels of international organizations, Pezeshkian added.
Whoever is truly after peace, security and stability must stand against the Israeli regime’s aggression, he noted.
Pezeshkian stated that Iran did not start the war, but powerfully responded to the offense.
The Israeli regime will have to brace for more painful and crushing responses if its acts of aggression against Iran continue, the president warned.
The Israeli regime attacked a number of residential neighborhoods of Tehran as well as military and nuclear sites in other parts of Iran in the early hours of June 13.
Several top military commanders, at least six Iranian nuclear scientists, and dozens of civilians were martyred in the strikes.
The Iranian Armed Forces have taken retaliatory action against the Zionist regime, hitting several cities in the occupied territories with powerful ballistic missiles.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said after the Israeli attack that the Zionist regime “has made a big mistake, a grave error, and committed a reckless act.”
“By God’s grace, the consequences of this will bring that regime to ruin,” the Leader warned, adding, “Our Armed Forces are ready, and the country’s officials and all the people are behind the Armed Forces. Today, similar messages have been issued by all the various political factions and numerous groups throughout the country. Everyone feels that we must give a strong response to the evil, despicable, terrorist Zionist identity.”
